Catherine McInerney
Catherine McInerney is the Manager of the Environmental Water Resources Program at the North East Catchment Management Authority. She leads both strategic and operational initiatives to deliver and protect environmental water across Victoria’s North East region.
Her work focuses strongly on collaboration, partnering with Traditional Owners, government agencies, water authorities and stakeholders. Catherine plays a key role in advancing programs such as the Victorian Government’s Water is Life: Traditional Owner Access to Water Roadmap.
Catherine ensures that environmental water objectives are embedded across river, wetland, and groundwater strategies, supporting North East CMA’s obligations under the Victorian Water Act. A recent highlight of her work includes partnering with the Duduroa Dhargal Aboriginal Corporation (DDAC) to deliver water to the Ryans Lagoon wetland complex, contributing to restoring its natural hydrological regime and cultural significance.
