Lin Wang 12th Australian Streams Management Conference 2026

Lin Wang

I am a PhD candidate researching the geomorphology of floodplain wetlands in Natural Flood Management (NFM). Based at Macquarie University, Australia, I investigate the distribution, structure, and function of floodplain wetlands and their role in NFM. My research integrates satellite imagery, Digital Elevation Models, and advanced machine learning techniques to map and analyse wetlands across large coastal catchments. I have extensive experience in GIS-based environmental modelling and in developing decision-support tools to inform flood resilience planning. I obtained both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physical Geography from Fujian Normal University, China. I am passionate about applying innovative geospatial technologies to address real-world challenges in flood risk management.
